She currently works as the Clinical lead and Attending Snr Psychiatrist at Recovery Pathways, a renowned private Health facility that specializes in Psychiatric care and Psychological wellbeing.
Ruth is Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons in Adult Psychiatry and holds an international fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry from Dalhousie University, Canada. She has almost 2 decades of experience in mental health and practices as Senior Specialist Psychiatrist and head of the Psychiatry Department at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and a Senior Lecturer at the School of Medicine and Dentistry, KNUST. She has won many awards in her field of practice, including the 2019 international fellow of the Association of Women Psychiatrists in San Francisco, U.S, in recognition of her work towards women mental health and the 2025 Otumfour Osei Tutu Millennium Excellence Award for her excellent work in women mental health. She is the past and first female president of the Psychiatric Association of Ghana (PAG).
